Makis Evangelatos

Dr Makis Evangelatos is a board-certified rheumatologist and clinical fellow in the Third Department of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in Sotiria Hospital (Athens). He is also the head of Rheumatology Department in HOSPITALity General Clinic (Athens). He trained in rheumatology in Laiko General Hospital (Athens), in 417 Army Share Fund Hospital - NIMTS (Athens), in Hippokration General Hospital (Athens), in Hygeia Hospital (Athens) and also in Akerhus Hospital and Martina Hansen Hospital in Oslo (Norway). He has a certification for ultrasound use in rheumatology by the Ministry of Health (Greece), after attaining a 6-month training in Hippokration General Hospital (Thessaloniki). Dr Makis Evangelatos received his medical degree and his masters degree from NKUA (MSc in Metabolic Bone Diseases) and is currently a PhD candidate. He is frequently invited as a speaker in many conferences and he is an active researcher, with 53 published papers in the most prestigious rheumatology journals*, 21 abstracts in international conferences and 21 abstracts in greek conferences. Dr Evangelatos has received scholarships from the Greek Rheumatology Society (ERE), the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR), the Emerging EULAR Network (EMEUNET) and the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO). He is part of the Editorial Board of Therapeutic Advances in Musculoskeletal Diseases and Mediterranean Journal of Rheumatology and has served as peer-reviewer in many international journals.
