Makis Evangelatos

Makis Evangelatos, Rheumatologist, MD, MSc, PhD

Makis Evangelatos is the Director of the Rheumatology Department at HOSPITALity General Clinic, and Scientific Associate at the 3rd Department of Internal Medicine, Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

He pursued his specialization in Rheumatology at leading hospitals in Athens, Greece (including Laiko General Hospital, Army Share Fund Hospital [NIMTS], Hippokration General Hospital of Athens and Hygeia Hospital) and Oslo, Norway (Akerhus University Hospital and Martina Hansen Hospital). He holds official certification in ultrasound use in Rheumatology from the Greek Ministry of Health, following six months of advanced training at Hippokration General Hospital of Thessaloniki.

Dr. Evangelatos graduated from the NKUA Medical School, where he also completed his PhD and a Master of Science (MSc) program in "Metabolic Bone Diseases". He is frequently invited as speaker or chairman at Greek and international conferences and maintains a strong research presence, with 53 scientific papers published in the top international rheumatology journals, along with 42 international and Greek conference abstracts.

He has been awarded scholarships by the Hellenic Society for Rheumatology, the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR), the Emerging EULAR Network (EMEUNET) and the European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO). He serves on the Editorial Board of the scientific journals Therapeutic Advances in Musculoskeletal Diseases and the Mediterranean Journal of Rheumatology and has acted as a peer-reviewer for numerous international scientific journals.
